Discover if you are in the lane God designed for you
According to God’s word not only were you created to do good works but you were given a measure of grace to complete those works. Whatever you were created to do will require the gifts and talents graciously given you by our heavenly father.
Staying in your lane is not always a bad thing:
I can recall hearing people use the expression stay in your lane. I thought, how dare they attempt to put me in a box. Who do they think they are? They don’t know what I am capable of doing. It wasn’t until recently that the holy spirit revealed not only is it a good thing to stay in your lane, God expects you to stay in your lane. We have different gifts according to the grace given to each of us. Romans 12:6 If we have different gifts, that means that everyone is not called to do everything.
Have you ever taken a moment to evaluate your gifts and talents? This is what allows you to be great at certain things in your life (Ie: organizing, crafts, teaching). List the gifts and talents you have been given by God. _________________________________________________________________________
Because of your gifts, what have you been able to do for yourself and/or your family? What have you been able to do for the kingdom of God?
God already knew what you would need to stay in your lane when He created you
Many times I ask people if they are doing what they were created to do. Their response is usually “I don’t know what I was created to do”. When you don’t know what you were created to do, its easy to veer off into someone else lane. You see a friend writing a book so you want to become an author. You see a friend becoming a life coach and you want to become a life coach. We can spend way too much time getting distracted driving in other peoples lane. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Name one time in your life you feel you have veered off in the wrong lane and it has cost you more than wasted time.
God will equip you to stay the course:
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13: 20-21
God will equip you to stay the course . The definition of equip is to supply with the necessary items for a particular purpose. That means you already have or will be given every thing you need to accomplish what is the will of God for you.
Often times we may feel like we cannot keep going in our current situation. Although we all have different situations and I may not know yours, I know that Gods word says that he will equip you to stay the course. But let me be clear, that course is referring to Gods will for our life.
May God give you every good thing you need so you can do what He wants. May He do in us what pleases Him through Jesus Christ. May Christ have all the shining-greatness forever! Let it be so. Hebrews 13:21 Think about and list the things including individuals that God has equipped you with to fulfill His purpose for you.
Grace to stay in the right place
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. Ephesians 4:7
The definition of grace is simple elegance or refinement of movement. This means that God have given each of us a measure of self control and will allow us to have intricate movements to executed his plan involving our lives.
Name a time where you have witnessed the grace of God over your life while exercising your gifts and talents:
Time to Take Action: Ask yourself
Am I in my lane or am I currently driving full speed in someone else’s lane?
If I am in someone else lane, what will I do immediately to veer back into my own lane?
If I am in my own lane, am I utilizing my gifts and talents properly?
What, if anything will I take from this lesson and how ill I implement it in my life?
